Inoru Wade, a nonbinary Kansas City Native received their Bachelor’s in East Asian Languages and Cultures and International Policy and a Master’s in Public Affairs and Administration from the University of Kansas. The emphasis of their studies and research focused on LGBTQ+ related issues and policy. Their published research in academic journals on LGBTQ+ issues has taken them to multiple national conferences teaching various governments, nonprofits, and working professionals about the issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. Upon graduating he noticed a lack of research being done throughout the Midwest on the issues and affairs affecting the community. They have served the Kansas City Metropolitan Area LGBTQ+ community through their policy work with local cities and counties in an advisory role.
Ash Viglino, a transmasculine Florida transplant, has called the KC Northland home since 2002 and prefers he/him/they/them pronouns. He currently works as a freelance artist for character and story illustrations, as well as being a tobacco harm reduction advocate. Ash is self-taught digital illustrator and self-proclaimed nerd who's current project is a historical fantasy comic inspired by the 1930's and Kansas City's jazz and prohibition history. He serves as the in-house graphic designer for Midwest Rainbow Research Institute, creating bold and inspiring works to represent the LGBTQ+ community.
Perla is a full stack web developer native to Kansas City. She is excited to take on free lance projects and work with local organizations that strive to make an impact on her local community such as Midwest Rainbow Research Insitute.

Taryn is a lifelong Kansas resident. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2010 with a degree in social work. She has been working in mental health and then in family preservation. In August 2018 she decided to go back to school for her master’s in social work with an emphasis in grant writing and public policy. Taryn is passionate about advocating for social change. She has been a volunteer at Midwest Rainbow before becoming a board member and is part of the Metro KC Climate Action Coalition. She recently ran for City Council in Overland Park on a platform of equality for all residents.

Sean is a banking professional in Kansas City and a lifetime Missouri Resident with a passion for community involvement. He has served in many organizations including charities, scouts, environmental organizations, and more. He has seen many of his organizations go through changes in policy towards the LGBTQ community and he hopes to bring his organizational experience and financial expertise to the team.

Shana Hart is a non-binary Kansas Citian who uses any pronouns as long as they are said with respect. She is an expert in the world of cosmetics and is busy building her very own beauty line. As a non-binary individual working in the world of cosmetics, Shana became a champion for the transgender community as they sought out products and services that would make them feel more aligned with their gender. With her spare time, she dedicates her self to helping those wishing to transition with various products that will bring about an individual’s feminine or masculine expression. She serves on the board of the Midwest rainbow research institute in hopes of uncovering data and research that will help create a culture and climate of acceptance and inclusion for all LGBTQ+ people so they may pursue their own dreams.
